Building your own training
You can train more comfortably when you know the design of your training is well put together. Knowning the exercises are relevant, instructive and engaging all participants right from the start.
Therefore, during this two-day program, you'll work on a makeover of your own training or design a new one fresh from the start, using the didactic method of De Galan.
Thus, you work on a program that you can use immediately in your own practice.
And you'll never have to work your way through 53 slides for a silent group again.

What is included in the Didactic Design for content matter experts training?

1. The didactic method of Karin de Galan
A lot trouble during your training can be prevented with a good design of your training. Karin de Galan's didactic method gives you a solid foundation under your training. From training on common sense to substantiation for what you do.
2. Two days of hands-on training
During the two-day session, you will be making a new training or a make-over of (a part) of an already excisting training.
3. Design coaching
Between days 1 and 2, you will receive one hour of 1-on-1 coaching from the trainer. This is online. Based on day 1, you design a new training or adapt an existing piece of training. You send this to the trainer. You will receive live feedback and tips to further improve it.
4. An online learning environment
You will have access to a digital learning environment for an entire year. This contains different video materials with explanations that will help you better understand and master the steps of the design process.
5. An experienced trainer
You get the training from Jaco Friedrich. He has been training with Karin de Galan's method for years and he does this worldwide. He is an expert in translating your (complex) content into a practical and instructive training.
6. Handy reference book
You will receive background articles and detailed check lists that will give you guidance at every stage of designing your training.

Who is this training for?
The two-day event is for subject matter experts who conduct training. Here some expamples of topics from previous participants:
- As an It-specialists you teach users how to use a complex computer program
- As senior engineer you teach colleagues how to do mechatronic system-design
- As a mortgage specialist you teach counselors how to write good client reports.
Karin de Galan's method works for all of these different types of content.

One more thing...
- The training is at the college level
- The working language during the training days is Dutch. The 1-on1 design coaching can be in English or Dutch.
- You will benefit the most from the training if you schedule 6-8 hours of time after the last day to put your new training setup on paper right away.

Practically this:
- We advise you to read in advance the book 'From expert to trainer' or the book 'Online training' by Karin de Galan. This will help you understand the method and see examples of working methods. When you do that, the training will have even more impact.
- You will be in a group of up to 12 participants.
- Training days are at Planetarium Amsterdam, Kromwijkdreef 11. Lunch is included.
- The time investment for the training is 22 hours. The training takes 2 days, the coaching 1 hour. Before and/or after you read the book and review materials on the learning environment.
